Today’s world is filled with novelties and achievements; thus, consumer protection is a more significant concern than ever before. With the rising global concern for health problems and the protection of the environment, there has been a great demand for labels that provide sufficient information. This article explicitly states that a theory of labeling is essential to safeguarding the consumer’s interests by providing the consumer with enough information on what he or she consumes. We shall follow this up with labeling, and at more detail, we shall focus on expiry date labels, green labeling, nutritionally informative labels, trace and capture labels.

Consumer Protection and Rights

Budgetary recourses are not necessarily intended to be the primary objectives of the consumer protection legislation since the essence of the legislation is located in the right to proper information. Buyer rights will make it a requirement that all the information that people need to be given with regard to the consumable product they are purchasing, the ingredients used, the calories, among other nutritional values, the dates of manufacture or preparation, and expiry dates, among others, be disclosed.
