Why Does My Deco Keep Going Offline? Common Causes & Fixes
If your Deco keeps going offline, it may be due to weak signals, firmware issues, or ISP problems. Learn how to fix and stabilize your Deco network.

Why Does My Deco Keep Going Offline? Common Causes & Fixes

It might be very annoying if your TP-Link Deco keeps going offline, especially if you depend on your mesh system for uninterrupted connectivity. Fortunately, you can restore network stability with a few simple troubleshooting actions.

Check your internet source first. Does your modem function properly?

  • To rule out ISP problems, try attaching a device straight to the modem.

  • Proceed to the Deco units themselves if the modem is working properly.

Check the modem

  • Verify that your primary Deco is turned on and connected correctly.

  • Your closest friend is the LED indication; green/white indicates good, yellow indicates starting up, and red typically indicates no internet.

Restarting the deco

  • Try restarting the Deco and the modem if you keep seeing red.

  • Examine the Deco app after that.

Signal interference

  •  To find out which Deco units are online, select the "Network" option.

  • One may be offline due to signal interference or being out of range.

  • Move it closer to the main unit or take down any physical barriers like metal furniture or walls.

Dropouts can also be caused by outdated firmware.

  • Under "More > Update Deco," check the Deco app for updates.

  • Hidden issues are frequently fixed by keeping your firmware up to date.

Resetting

  • You may need to reset the affected Deco unit if the issue persists.

  • After ten seconds of holding down the reset button until the LED turns yellow, reset it using the Deco app.

Pro tip:

To complete deco setup, always utilize the Deco app.

Instability may result from attempts to connect without the app, leaving setups unfinished.
