Sei has witnessed a notable price surge of nearly 14% in the past 24 hours, pushing its value to $0.2392. This bullish momentum follows a prolonged consolidation between $0.18 and $0.20—an area where buyers consistently upheld key support levels. With daily trading volume exceeding $160 million and total value locked (TVL) tripling over the past seven months, confidence in the network is growing steadily, leading many analysts to revisit their Sei price prediction for the coming months.
A key driver behind the recent optimism is Sei Labs’ decision to discontinue Cosmos support and fully transition to an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-exclusive architecture. Announced via X on May 7, this move aims to simplify the codebase, streamline infrastructure, and enhance developer experience—paving the way for Sei’s next growth phase, dubbed "Giga."
Sei had been one of the few chains bridging Cosmos and Ethereum. However, Dune Analytics data revealed that EVM users heavily outnumbered Cosmos users by a ratio of 162:1 at its peak. The numbers have consistently remained above 2.5:1 since, justifying the shift in focus. While some in the community have raised concerns about migrating Cosmos-based assets, many see this as a necessary evolution.
