In Mexico transformer market is buoyed by robust industrial growth, urban sprawl, and a parallel drive to modernize the Comisión Federal de Electricidad’s (CFE) aging infrastructure. Distribution transformers (13.8 kV/34.5 kV) dominate local demand, with a growing share of medium-voltage units for new industrial parks and data centers. While domestic manufacturers like TTR Transformers and Transformer Solutions México cater to baseline requirements, a substantial portion of high-voltage and specialty units are still imported from the United States, China, and Europe.

Looking ahead, Mexico’s gradual liberalization of its power sector—coupled with targets to raise the share of renewables to 35 % by 2024—will catalyze investment in both transmission and distribution assets. Microgrid and storage projects in remote regions are likely to spur demand for bespoke transformer solutions, such as pad-mounted units with integrated protection. Forecasts suggest a healthy CAGR of 5–6 %, driven by private-sector participation in generation and distribution.
