Nutrition: A global study commissioned by Wonderful Pistachios — the world’s largest grower and processor of California pistachios — highlights a notable shift in India’s snacking habits. Indian consumers are increasingly prioritizing nutrition over taste in their quest for healthier diets. Surveying over 12,400 participants across 10 countries, the study reveals that 58% of urban Indian consumers now place nutrition above taste when choosing snacks — surpassing the global average of 52%. This trend is especially pronounced in cities like Delhi and Ahmedabad, where over 60% of respondents make food choices based primarily on nutritional value.
