My Unforgettable Annapurna Base Camp Trek
I still get goosebumps remembering my Annapurna Base Camp Trek last spring.

I just came back from my Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Nepal, and my heart is still in the mountains! This amazing hiking trip took me through beautiful villages, bamboo forests, and right to the foot of the Annapurna mountains.

My trek lasted 9 days and I walked about 70 miles (115 km) in total. The path starts at around 3,280 feet and goes up to 13,550 feet at Annapurna Base Camp.

Every morning, I woke up to mountain views that made me grab my camera before even getting out of bed. The trail took me through small villages where kids waved hello as I passed by. I loved watching farmers work in fields built like stairs on the hillsides.

"The mountains will look different every hour as the light changes," my guide Raju told me. He was so right! I couldn't stop taking photos as the sun moved across the sky, making the snow peaks glow orange at sunset.

The trail went through many climate zones. I started in warm weather where I wore just a t-shirt (75°F/24°C), then ended up needing my puffy jacket at Base Camp (32°F/0°C).

My legs hurt from all the stone steps on the trail - thousands of them! But the hot springs at Jhinu Danda helped fix my sore muscles. Soaking in hot water while looking at mountains might be the best feeling ever.

The most amazing moment was reaching Base Camp and being inside a huge bowl of mountains. Annapurna I (26,545 feet) and the fish-tail shaped Machapuchare stood so close I felt I could touch them. I woke up at 5:00 AM to see the sunrise hit the peaks with golden light. Even in my tired state, I couldn't stop smiling.

If you want a trek with amazing mountain views, good trails, and comfy tea houses to sleep in each night, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek should be your next adventure!
