Our recent journey through the 9 Air BCN Terminal  was nothing short of excellent. Traveling as a family, especially with young children, can be challenging, but our experience at the 9 Air terminal turned out to be surprisingly smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. The terminal exceeded our expectations in terms of accessibility, staff friendliness, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere. I’m happy to share our positive experience for families considering travel via 9 Air from BCN.

We arrived at Barcelona-El Prat Airport a little earlier than needed, just to give ourselves ample time to get through check-in and security. From the moment we stepped inside the terminal, we noticed how well-organized and clearly signposted everything was. Navigating as a family is easier when the signs are readable and multilingual, and BCN did not disappoint. Everything was available in English, Catalan, and Spanish, which made finding our way simple.

The check-in experience at 9 Air’s counters was smooth and efficient. There were dedicated staff available to assist passengers, and they were especially kind when they noticed we were traveling with children. The agent even took the time to chat with our little ones, putting them at ease before the flight. Our baggage was checked quickly, and we received helpful directions to the security checkpoint. The entire process took no more than 15 minutes—an absolute win when traveling with an energetic family.

Security screening was one of the highlights for us. We’ve often faced long lines and slow processing at other international airports, but that was not the case here. Security personnel at BCN’s 9 Air terminal were friendly, courteous, and incredibly professional. They ensured that families were given just a little extra time and consideration, which made all the difference. We felt respected and taken care of throughout the process. Even our stroller and baby bags were processed efficiently.

After security, we were welcomed into a bright and spacious departure area filled with natural light and comfortable seating. The layout of the terminal is such that families can find quiet corners, which was perfect for us to settle down while waiting for our flight. The terminal had several family-friendly amenities, such as baby changing rooms, kid-friendly seating areas, and family restrooms—something that not all airports prioritize. These thoughtful additions helped us manage our time at the airport without stress or discomfort.

Dining options at the 9 Air were impressive. There were plenty of choices to satisfy every taste, including quick snacks, fresh sandwiches, local delicacies, and familiar international chains. We opted for a Mediterranean café offering healthy options that our kids actually enjoyed. Prices were reasonable, and the dining area was clean, with plenty of high chairs and space for strollers.

One of the most appreciated aspects of the terminal was the free high-speed Wi-Fi. It kept our older kids entertained with their devices, and we were able to check work emails and keep in touch with family easily. Charging stations were plentiful and conveniently located, which allowed us to juice up our phones and tablets before the flight.

Another standout feature was the range of shops in the terminal. Whether it was picking up last-minute travel essentials, souvenirs, or gifts, we found everything we needed. The duty-free area was spacious and well-stocked with cosmetics, snacks, perfumes, and more. What made it even better was the friendliness of the shop staff. They greeted us warmly and even offered assistance in finding child-appropriate snacks for our kids.

The terminal also offered quiet zones and rest areas, which we used to allow the children a short nap before boarding. These zones were peaceful and away from the main hustle of the terminal, and that helped reset our energy levels. The environment felt safe, calm, and welcoming—a major plus when you have young kids who get overstimulated easily.

As boarding time approached, announcements were made in multiple languages, and the gate area was easy to locate. The 9 Air ground staff were organized and polite, ensuring an orderly boarding process. Families with young children were allowed to board early, which we truly appreciated. The staff were attentive to everyone’s needs and didn’t rush us, making sure we were comfortable and had everything ready before entering the plane.

Even at the gate, the service felt personal. One of the attendants noticed we were having trouble keeping our kids seated and came over to offer small coloring books and stickers, which kept them engaged until it was time to board. This thoughtful gesture made a lasting impression and was a great reflection of the customer-first approach at the terminal.

Throughout the entire experience at the 9 Air BCN terminal, what stood out most was the balance of efficiency and genuine hospitality. Traveling through a busy airport doesn’t often feel calm, but our experience here was the exception. The terminal wasn’t just functional—it was thoughtfully designed for families and travelers of all kinds.

I also want to mention how clean the entire terminal was. Restrooms, waiting areas, and even the boarding gates were immaculate. Staff could be seen regularly cleaning and assisting passengers. This attention to cleanliness provided peace of mind, especially in a time where hygiene is more important than ever.

Lastly, the overall atmosphere was positive and upbeat. Travelers and staff alike seemed to be in good spirits. There was background music playing, helpful digital information screens everywhere, and comfortable lighting that made the space feel modern and warm.
