Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462) Updates for Filipinos
From 1 July 2024, the Republic of the Philippines is included as an eligible country under the Work and Holiday (subclass 462) Visa. Thus, Filipinos will have an opportunity to work in Australia while exploring the country’s beauty.
So far, the Government has only announced the required minimum qualification you must fulfill. To be eligible for the Work and Holiday (subclass 462) Visa, other than being a citizen of the Philippines and holding a valid passport from the country, you must:
- Hold a tertiary qualification or
- Have completed two years of undergraduate or post-secondary study.
Other requirements for Work and Holiday Visa Philippines
Referring to the current requirements that apply to eligible Southeast Asian countries, it is most likely you must meet the following criteria too before applying for a Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa as a citizen of the Philippines:
- Be under 30 years old at the time of application,
- Have at least Functional English,
- Have a letter of support from your country,
- Have at least AUD 5,000 deposited in your bank account,
- Meet the health and character requirements.

Current Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462) Cost
The current cost for a Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462) is AUD 635. The price is expected to change in July every year (following the opening of the financial year in Australia).
