How GMADA’s 2,600-Acre Land Acquisition Will Transform Mohali ?
The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has decided to acquire 2,600 acres of land in different areas for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The decision was made during a meeting led by Punjab Chief Secretary KAP Sinha. The land acquisition process is expected to start next month.

Key Decisions:

No CLU permissions for private builders: GMADA will not allow private builders to change land use in these areas.
Final approval needed: The decision will now go to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for approval.
Compensation for landowners: Landowners will get residential or commercial plots under Punjab’s land pooling policy. Some land will also be auctioned to the public.
