Dayforce Expands Flex Work to Power Frontline Contingent Workforce Management

Dayforce Flex Work expands its offerings with new modules aimed at supporting frontline contingent workforce management, adding vendor management, on-demand staffing, and agency network integration to its HCM platform. Organizations can now manage their full spectrum of labor from permanent and part-time employees to contractors and temporary agency staff in one system while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

Meeting the Rising Demand for Workforce Flexibility

Recent data shows that nearly 86% of workers would be willing to switch jobs for better scheduling flexibility. Simultaneously, about 65% of executives are looking for easier access to skilled contingent staff. These trends reveal a significant demand from both sides, employees wanting flexibility, and employers striving for agility in staffing.

Erik Zimmer, EVP of Corporate Development and Strategic Ventures at Dayforce, says the enhanced solution allows organizations to “adapt quickly and manage labor needs efficiently.” By integrating HCM with vendor management, Dayforce aims to break down silos, reduce friction, and help customers fill open shifts faster with more strategic control.

A Unified Approach to Managing All Worker Types

With the expanded Flex Work platform, Dayforce allows employers to consolidate management of their total workforce full-time, part-time, contingent, alumni, and agency workers under one roof. This helps improve fill rates for shifts, gives clearer visibility into workforce supply and demand, and supports better oversight of labor costs.

One Dayforce customer, SSA Group (a hospitality firm), has already seen benefits. Kassey Kampman, Head of People, noted that Dayforce Flex Work gives them the operational flexibility to handle seasonal staffing needs while keeping costs under control. Managing both employees and contingent workers in a unified system has strengthened their overall talent strategy.

Key Features Driving the Expansion

The platform’s expanded capabilities include:

  • A mobile-first experience that streamlines the entire contingent workforce workflow (from requisition to invoicing).

  • Automation of workforce programs that enforce contract rates, optimize supplier relationships, and manage spending.

  • Access to large pools of frontline workers via agency partnerships and custom talent pools.

These features help organizations reduce administrative overhead, improve agility, and ensure better alignment between staffing supply and operational needs.

Strategic Move Following Acquisition

This extension of Flex Work comes after Dayforce’s acquisition of JJJ International, which operated brands including Jitjatjo (for W2 on-demand staffing) and Network (a vendor management system for contingent labor). The acquisition laid the groundwork for these new features by bringing in both the technology and experience needed to manage contingent workforces at scale.
