From a Shop in Khari Baoli to Kitchens Across the World
Every brand has a beginning, and ours? Well, it started with a dream in 2006, tucked into the heart of Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market. Life Style Foods Pvt. Ltd. was born out of a simple yet powerful idea: bring original, fresh Indian spices into every home.
We didn’t start big. We started as a family. A close-knit group that believed good food starts with good spices. And in just a year, we took our next step—manufacturing our own spices to ensure that what went into people’s meals was nothing but the best.
By 2009, we’d set up our first automated cleaning plant. At the time, very few in the industry were thinking about automation. But we believed then (and still do) that modern technology and traditional flavors could—and should—coexist.

At Chukde, we don’t just talk about it; we test for it. In fact, every spice that enters our facility goes through fumigation and 27 rigorous quality tests. That includes testing for microbial load, harmful chemicals, and heavy metals—ensuring that what reaches your kitchen is as good as it is flavorful.

Innovation Rooted in Tradition
Even with all this technology, we haven’t forgotten where we come from. At our factories in Sonipat, Nagaur, and Rai, we blend automation with the human touch. After machines handle the pre-cleaning, grading, destoning, and color sorting, our team—especially our incredible women workforce—steps in to manually inspect every batch.
There’s something about watching someone handpick spices with the same care your grandmother did. It’s that attention to detail that makes a difference you can taste.
And while most spice manufacturers stop at basic cleaning, we go a step further. We use 12,500 gauss power industrial magnets, low-heat drying ovens, and a completely automated grinding process that retains the essential oils of each spice—because that’s where the real flavor lives.
Chukde: From Bazaar to Brand
2012 marked a turning point for us. With our processes perfected and our factories humming, we launched our consumer-facing brand: Chukde Spices.
The idea was simple: bring high-quality, and fresh Indian spices to homes across India—and beyond.
In just a few years, Chukde became one of the most recognized spice brands in India. Why? Because we did what others wouldn’t—we made quality non-negotiable.

With our own warehouse near Mumbai port, we ensure fast turnaround times and competitive prices. Under our parent company, we also operate Unique Fragrances, a recognized star export house that sends everything from spices to pooja items and Indian groceries to global markets.
