LESCO Electricity Bill

The Lahore Electric Supply Company

The Lahore Electric Supply Company lesco bill is responsible for distributing electricity in Lahore and its surrounding areas. Understanding the components of a LESCO electricity bill is essential for consumers to manage their energy usage and expenses effectively

🔍 Key Components of a LESCO Electricity Bill

  1. Energy Charges: This is the primary cost calculated by multiplying the number of units consumed with the applicable tariff rate. The tariff rates are determined by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) and can vary based on consumption slabs and categories.

  2. Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA): FPA accounts for fluctuations in fuel prices used for electricity generation. If the cost of fuel increases or decreases, the difference is adjusted in the subsequent bills. This ensures that the cost of electricity reflects the actual fuel expenses incurred during generation.

  3. Quarterly Tariff Adjustment (QTA): QTA reflects periodic adjustments in the tariff rates, typically on a quarterly basis, to account for changes in the cost of electricity supply. These adjustments are approved by NEPRA and are meant to ensure that the tariffs remain aligned with the actual cost of service

  4. Taxes and Duties:

    • Electricity Duty: A provincial tax imposed on the consumption of electricity.

    • General Sales Tax (GST): An 18% tax applied to the total bill amount, including energy charges and other adjustments.

    • Income Tax: Applicable to non-filers of income tax returns, especially if the monthly bill exceeds a certain threshold.

    • TV License Fee: A fixed amount added to support Pakistan Television (PTV) operations.

  5. Arrears and Outstanding Amounts: Any unpaid amounts from previous bills are carried forward and added to the current bill as arrears.

⚠️ Understanding Detection Bills
