Launching of the Brand

The brand was launched in 2015, but it was a long journey, as per the founder. However, as years passed by, the brand included more members to its team including Malcolm, Jose, Rob, Daequan, Chuk, Matt, and Mozen. According to the founder of the brand, it is impossible to do everything alone when it comes to a brand like Barriers, and that is why it needed a solid community.

How The Brand Garnered Attention?

A few years back, the internet was gifted with a sweet picture of James Harden, a Brooklyn Net Player who was casually watching his team dominate their opponent while sipping coffee. While the picture was cute enough but nothing extraordinary, something else caught everyone's attention. It was the sick hoodie that he was wearing. The hoodie was by the brand ''Barriers Clothing.'' The hoodie was designed with a style to pay homage to the Jamaican-born activist Marcus Garvey who was famously known as Black Moses.

In fact, this wasn't the first time that this celebrity was spotted wearing the clothing collection of Barriers Clothing. He once wore the cream Fred Hampton hoodie and posted himself wearing the same on Instagram.

Barriers Clothing also posted Young Thug and even Pop Smoke (rest in peace), both adoring the Huey Hoodie, which was dedicated to Huey P. Newton, who was the co-founder of the very famous Black Panther Party.

Barriers Clothing - What is the Theme?

We can't ignore the fact that there's clearly a theme here. The brand has released wonderful tees and hoodies with iconic Black historical figures including activists like Bobby Seale, Jackie Robinson, Kathleen Cleaver, and so many more. But the truth is that the brand is so much more than that.

The brand exists to spread information among the world about the Black history of Black in the United States and all over the world.

Why Did Barriers Choose to Work with the Imagery of Black Activists?

Steven wanted to tell the people about all the good things these activities did. He believes that kids aren't taught much about their history. Learning about such figures, he realized that classroom teaching isn't enough, which ignited his passion to make people learn about Black history.

Comfortable Material Clothes

The clothing offered by Barriers is supremely comfortable making it the top reason for its popularity. Its clothes are made of super warm and soft materials like mixes of cotton and polyester. These clothes are not just great for streetwear or casual wear but also for sports, as they are soft and offer easy mobility.

The color palette offered by its hoodies is super diverse, serving a wide range of styles and tastes. And the best part is that it is appropriate for everyone -every cultural l background and age. You can wear it at whatever events you want and still be comfortable because of the interesting fit it offers, along with the super soft fabric.

Conclusion

The main aim of the founder of the brand is to help teach kids and youth about the wonderful history of prominent black figures. And he did that by blending it with style, versatility, and comfort by producing the wonderful Barriers Clothing.
